Got a hit to my landing page (they just grabbed default.html) from 75.169.30.34. This is CENTURYLINK-US-LEGACY-QWEST which is notorious (for me) for being the source of strange web hits (not quite bot, not quite human). So this is totally bot just for the files they didn't request to render my landing page. The user-agent was:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/14.1.2 Safari/605.1.15
So is that Firefox? Chrome? Safari? I guess Safari? But here's the kicker - the referer was:
file:///Users/marknorth/Desktop/domains.txt
I do a search for that, I find one example in someone else's posted "webalizer" logs, but that's it. Strange.
