I noticed that lucy24 has also seen that femtosearch bot from the 38. Cogent neighborhood here: [webmasterworld.com...] I'd add |femto| to my blocked UAs section.

BTW, I've noticed that a lot of bots offer a http: link to read about their bots' intent.

Seeing the subject header, I took a quick look at raw logs. I see a fair number of Femto--blocked on header grounds--in November and February, nothing in March, and most recently a sole request for robots.txt in April. This may mean they are under new management, because they have a past history of non-compliance. We Shall See.

That makes sense. Similarly, my robots.txt is exempt from all canonicalization rules, whether www or https, because I don't want to give anyone an excuse not to be able to read it.
