A discrete Japanese bot that has been with me for many years. It hits only 2 identical images, then stops.

Hatena's been busy with the new bots lately.

Any idea what triggers them? Most bots land everywhere eventually, so if I've never set eyes on them, it probably means they come in response to some specific action. (Where “specific action” doesn’t necessarily mean “site owner’s invitation”.)

I went back 6 months. It asks for the same graphic each time: a sewing machine. Maybe it simply monitors that my site is still running, sort of like when some bots look for the robots.txt? It is not a bad bot.

I have bilingual English Chinese content, and no Japanese. The image it seeks is English.

Maybe this agent is not misbehaving, however HatenaBookmark is infamous for bad behaviour over the years. One could assume the same admins that were/are behind HatenaBookmark are responsible for this agent as well. As such, it remains blocked at my properties.
