UA: android-app://com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox

Seen a couple of these the past few days. Not only a really stupid UA but the URL is backwards as well!

I've had to open a UA hole just for this. I know it's "good" because a client's customer complained. :(

SORRY! That should, of course, been Referer NOT UA! :(

Yes, when a user searches from the default search displayed on Android 6* (Marshmellow) devices (and not from a launched browser) this app may be seen in the logs or GA as referer.

URL is backwards...

Well not really, it is a standard naming convention in anything that is Java. Do a search on your(even windows) box for "com.".

Thanks for the link, keyplr. I don't read that forum so wasn't aware of it.

blend27 - thanks for the info. Not a java fan by any means!

Not your old java... faster, leaner, better compiled. Without java, your smart phone wouldn't work.

Nah, You could still hear the buzzing of the 500Amp power supply unit in that old tower... all of that .ASP code for sure :)

500Amp? I remember when, but not on MY desktop. Copper-plated floors, disk drives taller than a small child... Must have cost my employers a fortune - and for only a decade or two's computing. Ah, happy days. :)

I saw that today. So maybe when searching from the Pinterest app, since it is ported to the Android OS, it gets added to the UA string.
