UA: Disqus/1.0
Protocol: HTTP/1.1
Robots.txt: No
Host: softlayer.com
208.101.0.0 - 208.101.63.255
208.101.0.0/18

Why this is attempting to request stand-alone image files from my server is a mystery unless the UA is being spoofed.

info: disqus.com

Do you have reason to believe it's legitimately connected with disqus? What are they doing crawling from Softlayer? (I assume you looked up the exact IP and didn't glean any further information.) Then again, as you say, what are they doing crawling at all? (I also assume you don't have sites that use disqus for comment threads, or you'd have said.)

My strongest current association with disqus is that they changed their referer (links from profile) to "disq.us" so I had to go tweak one of my bogus-referer rules, grrr.

I don't use their product(s)

Possibly app gets installed on a web server & does its bidding from there.

Or, as said, it could be a UA spoof since it tried to get image files, which is a common occurence at my site from unwanted agents.
