Has this one been posted somewhere? If so, I can't find it.

Former google preview:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko; Google Web Preview) Chrome/22.0.1229 Safari/537.4

latest google preview (differences highlighted):
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko; Google Web Preview) Chrome/27.0.1453 Safari/537.36

As always, that's Preview's own UA, not the human visitor.

Source: 66.249.81.72. The X-Forwarded-For header (google sends one, other previews generally don't) agreed with an immediately preceding image search.

hey lucy,
Don't know how this thread slipped through the cracks.

There's been multiple threads related to G-Preview and discussed same, which I'm sure your aware of.

These UA's would get caught by two key-words in my UA denies.

Personally, I deny as many previews as possible. Others may have different preferences.

This isn't about Preview as such, but the specific UA.

The weird followup is that, while my notes had the .4 and Chrome/22 version, my log-processing script already said .36 and Chrome/27 ... so I can't for the life of me figure out why the current UA wasn't getting dealt with appropriately.

Even blocked, both the Bing Preview and the Google Preview serve a purpose for me. They show me where people are hot-linking to my files.

Heh, same here.

I wish they had different UAs for Search Preview-- meaning humans who might possibly be interested in your site-- and gwt Preview-- meaning "Yes, thank you, I'm a tiny site and I already know what my own pages look like".
