I believe the Ireland AWS ranges (there are several) were discussed in Pfui's original Amazon AWS Hosts Bad Bots thread.

Only on paper. :) Amazon's European AWS is on Irish IP space. It makes building a map of the Irish webscape really interesting especially with all the DNSes and websites in AWS. (570K pages indexed on this Irish search engine project with another 730K pending.)

Well it's part of the European Union.
True. But psychologically and culturally it is closer to the US and the UK for historical and family reasons.

What does that have to do with anything concerned here? The range is Amazon Data Services Ireland Ltd which is part of RIPE = European (administered in Amsterdam.)

It is a comment on the current state of affairs and sentiment in Ireland regarding the European Union. The ranges are designated IE rather than EU. Amazon has AWS ranges outside the US and the Irish ranges constitute one of them as its European operation is based in Dublin, from what I remember.
