I've had to reformat, which I've not done in ages.

In the past and for what seems like an eternity, I've used WordPad to edit my htaccess, unfortunately, after the reformat, the line breaks are not showing.

The only option seems to be "no wrap", which has no effect.

Anybody have a clue?

Currently using NotePad, which displays fine.

Never used WordPad but I always thought it saved in non-ASCII format - ie with markup?

NoWrap is only a display feature and does not affect the saved file.

I have used Notepad, Notepad2 and TED on Windows but my primary Windows editor has always been a rather ancient version of Textpad. Most of my editing nowadays is carried out using Kate on a Linux machine.

Are you sure it is saved as ASCII text?

It sounds like it might not be.

I use EditPad Lite (free from the same dot com) to write my httdp.ini file (htaccess on Win). The program can handle very large text files and does not add anything invisible to the file when saved.
