I already have the bdbrandprotect.com IP ranges and the bdbrandprotect and ImagineWalker user-agents blocked (to 403) in my general .htaccess file. But today I noticed 3 requests for images on my website from the following host and referer:

bas4-toronto02-1176313410.dsl.bell.ca
http://categorizers.bdbrandprotect.com/CatSysWebApp/NextContent.aspx?contentid=475377486850

(That link comes up with a message that says I need to log into the Brandimensions system.)

Naturally, I've now set it to 403 if the referer matches "bdbrandprotect.com" too. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and knows what it means? Should I block that host too?

Thanks.

Do you have an ecommerce store?

Do you have images of someone's product or logos on your site?

If so, it appears they may be investigating the legitimate use of those images.

No, it's a completely non-commercial "vanity site" with my own photos of my alma mater's campus.

(When I first saw this company in my logs a few years ago, I dug around on the WWW a bit and concluded that it's a sleazy outfit that ignores robots.txt and other protocols, so I've been 403-ing it as much as possible.)
