There may be variations but this is the first I've seen:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B367 Safari/531.21.10

Haven't seen that but it's very similar to the ipod one I've been seeing:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16

I'd expect to see similar UA formats between Apple-based platforms and apps. For example, here's Safari v4.0.5 on a MacBook Pro:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_8; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7

The interesting sightings will be fakes --

Mozilla/5.0(iPad; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ve

-- and misc. other add-ons/whatevers:

GoodReaderIPad/2.7.3 CFNetwork/467.12 Darwin/10.3.1

That fake will fail if you have a 'space required before paren' kind of all-around rule (yep), ditto the add-on if you prefer "iPad" case-sensitive (nope).
