Thanks. Not sure what was wrong yesterday but I did search for this on G yesterday and came up with nothing. Now there's lots of matches. And I guess my contact isn't well-informed about all aspects of FB, but I would have expected her to know about user agents since that's what we're working on.

"gnarly-looking thing" indeed and on shared hosting accounts it easily travels unilaterally wreaking havoc on all those PHP CMS sites if register_globals is on by default.
