Since my RSS reader of choice since shutdown on September 28 (NewGator Inbox [webmasterworld.com] Outlook plugin). I been migrating my feeds over to the internal outlook RSS feed manager.

So after looking at my own log files trying to figure out why outlook was not pulling a private feed. I figure out it did not use the standard IE RSS User-Agent [msdn.microsoft.com] as I expected it would (and previously white listed).

So for all those people wondering what this User-Agent is from, it is from Outlooks internal feed reader.

OutlookConnector/1.9 (TmstmpExt; MSOffice 12)

I have a feeling that this User-Agent might be used by outlook for more then RSS feed gathering, but have no other details on it as of yet.

MSOffice is also present in UA string when the user attempts to capture/copy web pages and save to their machine via Microsoft Office publishing tool, hence I block it categorically.

I don't offer an RSS feed and I'm guessing that my site is rarely linked from anyone's feed with the exception of those reading Twitter with a feed reader.

From trend data gathered from logs, I've only seen MSOffice present in capture/copy attempts, but I'll keep a look-out, thanks for the heads-up Ocean10000.
