Bot? Crawler? Feedish-reader? Link-checker? Sucker-upper?

Gist.com's blog says, in part: "We connect to your inbox or social networks... automatically prioritize them and bring together [everything but the kitchen sink] into one neat package..." so it beats me who/what was 'prioritizing and packaging' this way:

util2.beta.gist.com
Gist Server

robots.txt? NO

FWIW: Seattle-based company; out of beta this week, apparently. Funded in part by Vulcan Venures. (In Seattle, Vulcan anything = Paul Allen. Yep. That Paul Allen.)

Great name, Gist, but here's the tricky part -- Gist.com's IP:

74.125.53.121

That's a.k.a. Google. Dunno if assimilation is coming, happening, or that was the lab/incubator, etc. But if you're open-door when it comes to all UAs/IPs Google, you might want to revisit your RewriteConds re "Gist Server" (and/or because #*$! WHOIS sez "858,111 other sites hosted on [74.125.53.121].")

This wouldn't be google's "we're going to take over the world's web hosting now" service, would it?
