Someone is using geek-tools to anonymously check your sever response. Get ready! :)

There was a very intense probing of my main site last Thursday looking for all kinds of vulnerabilities. I get that sort of thing all the time though and usually let it proceed just to see everything it's looking for.

Was that what you meant by get ready?

Cause those probes came shortly after the above bot's visit. I'm not sure what requesting the headers of the default root pages would accomplish beyond what's fairly obvious. Such as I'm on an IIS-based server cause all my pages have .asp extensions.

Help me better understand what you mean please.

Yes, that's what I meant but I was kidding about 'get ready' since any real threat would likely come from more formidable foes than a free web-based tool.

Oh, OK. :)

The servers are well hardened against attacks, so I'm not terribly worried anyway. We've never been successfully compromised. I think people who claim Windows servers are inherently insecure just don't know what they're doing.

Now watch and see, I'll wake up tomorrow and my servers will be in a puddle on the DC floor.
