Tumblr/1.0 RSS syndication ( [tumblr.com...] (support@tumblr.com)

It seems odd to me that Tumblr, a social networking site, has a RSS feed running from ThePlanet. Wouldn't a site that size have its own data center?

Anyway, it took a bunch of tutorial files I wouldn't expect to see an RSS feed requesting. After it did that a few times I fed it 403s until it went away.

They're hosted by The Planet so it's not so odd really.

Thanks, Bill. I guess they're not as large a site as I thought.

Has nothing to do with size really.

If you don't get your reverse DNS changed on many services it simply defaults back to the hosting company.

I'm obviously a small fish but I have my reverse DNS all set correctly, SPF records, yada yada.

Size never implies a level of technical competence. ;)

My reference to size had to do with me thinking they must surely have their own DC and not be hosted with a place like TP. But you're quite right about your last sentence. Sad, but true. :(*
