As I was testing odd User-Agents to check against my current browser identification definitions, I ran across the following User-Agents. Newest version I have is list first.

  • Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071130 HeartRails_Capture/0.5 (+http://capture.heartrails.com/) BonEcho/2.0.0.11
  • Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; chrome://navigator/locale/navigator.properties; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060825 HeartRails_Capture/0.1 (+http://capture.heartrails.com/)

I do not have much more on it though. It didn't trip any of my traps, took CSS, JS, and cookies with no problem. No Robot.txt in the version I have in my logs which is about a year old so this may have changed by now.

Anyone have anything else on it. I think the website is a little funky, since half of the text comes in as ? for me.

I block the UA. It must have scraped or "captured" a few of my pages at one time or another.

FYI: text displays as "?" when your browser does not support that language charset.

Does anyone know who uses the screen-shots captured by this User-agent?
