Today Claria doesn't even name their software's "Product" on their website, rather "Technology".
The tool would best be described as a content filter, however much more.
The IP ranges still seem to be allocated to Gator, thus I'm assuming the company in another shape or name exists today.

I'm just trying to clean out some dead wood from my .htaccess. All it does it get larger and larger. I never see 75% of the treats I've blocked so I was wondering if some of them still exist or not. Better careful than sorry I guess

"Practically speaking", it's a good idea to even give long denied IP ranges a chance to see if the "masses per say" were unjustly denied as the result of a few offenders.

Anything that Gator was up to clear back in 2003 had long since been denied. Htmlparser was not associated with Gator, however, at the time, to my knowledge. And, as far as I know, the latest, somewhat rogue, instance of htmlparser, came in from filtrbox.
