EchO! Spider Agent

Hello,

I'm seeing this agent in my website logs called EchO! and I've been unable to find anything on it. Anyone heard of it or know what it does? I try to keep track of all spiders going over my site so I don't have something that might be a security risk or stealing content or email harvesting etc... Thanks.

You will need to check your actual logs to see if this is really a bot. Quite a few statistics packages misidentified the pre-release versions of the Firefox 2 browser (codename "Bon Echo", as identified in the user agent string), as the bot "EchO!".

You may well find it is simply a Firefox user who has not upgraded from the pre-release version.
