why dont we see spiders in Live chat softwares

just query came to my mind , why we dont see spiders in the live chat windows? we often see live visitors on live chat softwares but not spiders

sorry am not programmer , so dont know how things work

I have seen spiders activate the links to enable online chat windows for things like Live Person as they crawl but that's as far as it went.

Damned annoying to think you had a customer online and it was just Googlebot or something!

Well, I haven't seen search engine spiders in chat sessions, but I've definitely seen chat bots -- specialized programs written to simulate chatting people in an attempt to get people to visit websites, etc.
