ICRA_label_generator/1.0
ICRA_Semantic_spider/0.9

This org allows you to register site content and helps to keep all us kiddies safe.

I got the above report from a third party. I can't find anything on WebmasterWorld or Google in general to let me know how these UAs behave.

The third party didn't provide any other details so I'm hoping one of you have seen these UAs and can tell me more about it.

To my knowledge, these UAs do not visit uninvited. This is a self-regulated tag that you request from ICRA. Then you are crawled and the your domain specific meta tag is generated for you to voluntarily install in your mark-up to declare that your site is rated for various content levels.

The benefits seem to be, if your site is rated for all viewers, then the meta tag enables you to clear the various content filters all over the net, or at least those who support ICRA tags. If your site contains adult content, this tag declares such and may aid in avoiding complaints, lawsuits, etc.

I use ICRA tags because my site is education themed and so I clear filters for school libraries, etc.

It's been years since I looked at the markup for one of my websites. It uses a tag from ICRA to let everyone know the site is safe for kids of all ages. So now I'm wondering how come I've never seen this UA before.

Anyway, thanks keyplyr. :)

I was just commenting on what I understood about the ICRA system. Possibly they are updating their label DB and have created a couple UAs to do the job. Just a guess.

That seems to be the general consensus amongst the people I've shared this info with. Thanks again. :)

The label generator fetches your page when you ask ICRA to create a site or page labeling file (labels.xml or labels.rdf) automatically instead of doing it manually.

Then the Semantic spider fetches your page to check it after you've installed the labels file link to see if you've done it correctly.

Neither of these user-agents are a concern unless you are actually in the process of creating or checking an ICRA content-rating [icra.org] file for your site.
