Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Bluecoat DRTR)
204.246.129.nnn
No PTR
OrgName: ViaWest Internet Services, Inc.

No robots.txt. Based on the files it took, and didn't take, it's clearly a bot.

Does anything know what this bot is up to? Thanks.

Thanks Don. That appears to be it. Funny I got no match for Bluecoat DRTR on Google but I never tried just Bluecoat. I think I was asleep while doing my analysis this week. <G>

On a related note. I forgot to mention in my original post that this user agent came from the same IP Address as three other bots I've seen in the past:

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; Cerberian Drtrs Version-3.2-Build-0)
Mozilla/4.0
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible;)

Do you think this in any way ties it into a thread Jim started [webmasterworld.com] back in 2004?

Gary,
I'm not sure if the two have any connection.
I have Cerbeian everything denied.

My sites don't offer porno or even gambling. With only a few exceptions (a couple of damns and a bitch or two when referred to the dam of a foal) my pages don't even contain curse words.
As a result placing content restriction software on my pages is a bit absurd :)
