How about a little more info please Don. I'd like to know why you feel this is worthy of a Class A ban. Thanks. :)

Gary,
My reply was an attempt at humor ;)

However, since you have chosen the serious side?
1) RIPE is a good enough reason for myself
2) I have far more than a solitary Class A deined
a) I have 8'all denied with the exception of some very
small ranges in two classes that were contact requests
for access.

You're so quick to ban stuff that I wasn't sure if you were really joking or not. :)

Gary,
Our objectives are a bit different for our sites.
You deny access leaning to caution toward the visitor.

Early on (and every time since) when I learned of the capability to limit access, each and every time that I denied short the visitor I was attempting to deny returned and resumed activity.

Today I don't deny short.

I've been playing with bots and harvesters far too long.

My intersts is in visitors that are interested in the material of my websites and are willing to comply with my TOS for the benefit of enjoying that depth.
Everybody else may eat 403's.

Your objective is to offer your resources to a far wider region than mine, which justifies your leniency.

Yup, I understand your point of view on the subject Don. As always whatever works best for you is what's best for you. :)

This will be my last post here on WebmasterWorld. Brett and I have major disagreements about too many things so I'm moving on. You all take care, be well, keep those nasty bots at bay, and make lots of profit. :)
