Websites that reside on the same machine as the spider?

Fair enough. :) But that doesn't explain why it was crawling my websites! Maybe it was just a log spammer?

Dan should have put a tongue-in-cheek after his reply as that was his intent.

Many major search engines are creating regional directories (aka Local), by state/province and even towns.
I read an IAR press release a while back that Verizon or one of the other phone comanies had awaiting billions of dollars in advertising to create effective local directories.
Verizon already has such a bot for some time.

Looks like others are jumping on the bandwagon on a smaller scale.

Now that you mention it, it does seem obvious. ;)

I've been a little slow lately. I've got breast cancer. Yes guys can get it too. :( I'm due for surgery early in October. In the interim I'm on lots of pain medication because the darned thing actually hurts which is unusual for this type of cancer.

I stumbled across such a reference a while back while looking for some info on lymphoma cancer.

Yep, my tongue was thoroughly in my cheek on that one.

GaryK, you're in my prayers. I hope you start feeling better soon!

It's still embarrassing being the only guy in the women's outpatient center getting a mammogram. :)

Thanks Dan.

this thing has some appetite, grabbing pages at 1-2 second intervals.

Doesn't follow redirects and 403's don't slow it down.

I've had some other Internap ranges denied for a while. An ARIN on that name provides some regional numbers, however this range comes from their open (and colocation) numbers.

I went to the class B and may expand on the providers ranges.

I can vouch for it. It's legit. They're a competitor. ;-)
