I did a search and kept seeing people ask if it was just a human error....yeah the placement of Z and R so close together... I mean like 20 times a day man....

My advice is NOT to send an email. Like someone once posted, if they can't post a bot url then block and forget.

Anyone else see this come their way?

Came by once that I've noticed, same guy looks like:

192.55.214.54 - - [18/Sep/2005:21:37:27 -0700] "GET /zzrobots.txt HTTP/1.0" 404 1951 "-" "Microsoft_Internet_Explorer_5.00.439wa (fjones@isd.net)"

(he he... I've got a smaller error page)

Came by my site as well.

192.55.214.54 - - [18/Sep/2005:06:06:06 +1200] "GET /zzrobots.txt HTTP/1.0" 404 603 "-" "Microsoft_Internet_Explorer_5.00.439rh (fjones@isd.net)"
192.55.214.54 - - [18/Sep/2005:06:06:16 +1200] "GET /Example.htm HTTP/1.0" 200 14235 "-" "Microsoft_Internet_Explorer_5.00.439rh fjones@isd.net"
192.55.214.54 - - [18/Sep/2005:06:14:03 +1200] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 301 312 "-" "Microsoft_Internet_Explorer_5.00.439rh fjones@isd.net"

It didn't then request the page given in the 301 redirect.

That UA has been on my ban list for about a month. I never got a reply to my e-mail inquiries. Most of these types of bots don't reply to inquiries but I usually try anyway.

I would avoid using your personal/private email address IF you really feel the need to email makers of bots. I've found spammers who will run a bot, make one or two hits on thousands of domains and then just add curious webmaster's email addresses to their dirty collection. The best piece of advice is if they can not be identified they should be blocked.

I use a gmail address. I haven't had to change it yet because the spam filter seems to be really good. I appreciate the advice though. :)
