search engine IP lists

I want to use IP lists to restrict access to my site. I am looking for IP lists of the major search engines which are updated on a regular basis. I know that nothing will be 100% in terms of giving me every new search engine IP. I am not expecting 100% accuracy, just a high degree of accuracy.

I do realize that cloaking services/software offer regularily updated search engine IP lists.

I want reliable and frequently updated lists. I do not mind paying a reasonable fee for this service but I do not know what is the best source for this type of thing.

I know there are some free sources of IP lists that appear to be updated regularily. How do they compare to lists obtained through paid cloaking software or services? Are they better or worse?

I realize we can't review specific products and services here at WW and I am not looking to do that publicly.

What I am looking for is some general advice such as:

"You can do this with free sources and they are more reliabe anyway"

OR

"No, IP lists from paid cloaking software is the way to go as they are more accurate".

Please note, I am not looking to cloak my pages, I want to use search engine IP lists to restrict site access.
