Nevermind. I found the answer myself.

Wavepluz is a spammer, and a crawler/spambot. I searched Google for the entire UA string and got stats files.
Searched for Wavepluz (all results) and found Yahoo Groups pages in Google's cache where people had posted strange spam e-mails they had received. Guess what name appeared in the headers?
Also, there is a blank (almost) website "under heavy construction" for this particular entity.

BTW, the IP in previous post belongs to an Indonesian ISP.

Hey, coyote?

I noticed a couple of other [webmasterworld.com] mis-behaving [webmasterworld.com] bots such as Java/1.x.y [webmasterworld.com] on the boards as usual today.

That left me wondering if it was appropriate to list all the Bad-Bots/Harvestor IPs [webmasterworld.com] in a "Weekly/Daily Bad-Bot" thread, similar to the "Friday Word Game" they run in Foo?

Good idea, pedanticist.
The forum should also be renamed to simply "Spider Identification"

Sounds goods to me.

The "Creepy Crawler Collection" should be a weekly thread, since a daily one would have only a couple of posts.

Should we come up with an initial format that others may replicate?

Creepy Crawler Collection (weekly date).
This weeks rogue entities are...

Yeah. That looks like a great thread Title.

Looks fine. Just need the thread colors changed to Halloween ones (black and orange with some white) that would fit the mood.

Yeah, that's it. With the date:

Creepy Crawler Collection 10/5/03-10/12/03.
This week's rogue entities are...
