My spider trap caught 209.189.108.196 requesting files disallowed by robots.txt. The useragent was "Mozilla/4.5 [en] (WinNT; I)". Anybody seen this too? What might it be?

So how do we do it?

Oingo.com is powered by Applied Semantics' CIRCA Technology which is based on an extensive ontology of millions of words, meanings, and their conceptual relationships to other meanings in a semantic network that is constantly changing to reflect the currency of everyday language. Once a query is submitted, our interpretive algorithm parses it and the output is filtered to derive the optimal result.

But who knows what they are doing these days? Probably ripping your content for some for profit information gathering...

Littleman
This google/applied/oingo reationship was breifly mentioned in one of our threads. Wasn't able to ding it in the archives.

This below
[webmasterworld.com...]

I recall reading the release in IAR and it was presented as using the keyword click-thru's.
I also recall mention of google using the resources of Applied to further their spidering based on Applied's keywords.

Thanks for the information.

So then they would be crawling sites to do relational key word analysis perhaps -- for their expanding KW base, KW mining.

littleman,
I hope I'm not recalling this incorrectly, however I recall reading somewhere that google was using the keyword crawling as an enhancemnt to their regular bots. In effect to build their links in a way that google had not previously.
