Anyone know about "Lite Bot 0816b"? Skipped robots.txt and went straight for my sitemap. Then downloaded the whole site. Below is the first entry of my log.

141.154.178.184 - - [23/Oct/2002:09:53:56 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 9529 "-" "Lite Bot 0816b"

Thanks for the heads up!

I have not seen it yet, but now I guess I won't!

I've banned it. It generated overnight a pile of 404 errors in quick succession, so I regard it as potentially hostile.

I got hit by this yesterday. It didn't bother with my robots.txt file, but didn't get any further than my root page - I *knew* there was an advantage to frames! :)

Here's a new IP address to block:

66.126.126.222 - - [20/Dec/2002:20:27:52 +0000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 2652 "-" "Lite Bot 0916b"

[Edit: Ooh! I've only just noticed the subtle difference in the version number at the end.]
