Hi:

Another poll-bot...

68.161.83.159 - - [13/Oct/2002:19:03:19 -0600] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.1" 200 4039 "http://www.pingalink.com/research.asp" "PingALink Monitoring Services 1.0 (http://www.pingalink.com)"

You can follow their links to see if you like them or not!

The real question is, did you sign up for the monitoring that hit your site, or did someone else?

I just banned two IPs of something calling itself "netmonitor 0.8" because I didn't sign up for it, and it was pinging my site every 15 mins.

Slade:

No, I most DEFINITELY did not! For me, this sort of thing is an instance ban, but to each his or her own. I just post the info, and let others draw their own conclusions.

Would you mind posting the full UA, or is "netmonitor 0.8" the full UA?

Doesn't look like they've gotten the hint yet... I wonder what else I can do...

208.17.213.102 - - [14/Oct/2002:13:17:54 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 403 - "-" "NetMonitor 0.8"
209.61.191.79 - - [14/Oct/2002:13:18:07 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 403 - "-" "NetMonitor 0.8"

That's the two IPs that are hitting a single site of mine.
