I've been getting a lot of activity from 66.237.60 lately.

Anyone have any info on these folks?

I dealt with these guys before because they were slamming our system hard. Every single day and they just wouldn't stop.

...but. :( All my mails concerning them are on the other machine and I can't access it at the moment. Hopefully someone else will fill the blanks. If not then I'll dig through them when I can and post what I know.

They offer hosting and network services for small and mid companies. They might be grabbing a bunch of stuff for caching purposes but I can't remember.

You may have heard of XO Communications because XO serves as one of the primary underlying inter-city network services provider throughout the US for Nextel's long distance services.

Pretty big outfit. www.concentric.net goes to xo.com

Concentric started using a XO as a company name about a year or so ago. (According to a friend who used to work for them)

Only in the same way that the UK is also known as Lancashire - well sort of, if you get my drift:)

XO are a substantial company targeting corporate accounts, and, at least so far, have been OK to deal with.

Freenetname are a PITA who gave home users and small businesses a free domain name and then charged them nearly £100 to move the domain. Part of the whole maybe, but definately a backwater now.

In the UK, they were more prominently known as the ISP called Global Internet, then GX Networks, then Concentric, now XO. Whew!

It could be one of their customers running a spider.

At the end of the day. I think InfoSpace (who have links with XO) have a spider technology (of sorts). I know this because they crawl one of my customers sites. It is probably them running test for a new product or something. They might evenbe building a search engine of sorts (IMHO the company has been heading that way for a long while).

Friday,

Did this bot have no User Agent name?

The one that hit our sites didn't so we just banned them off by IP. However, I'm not recommending that you do the same since we don't know what they are doing.
