It is a ole client Microsoft packs with something in win2k(?). Nothing to worry about. There are a couple of people around here who use it. Redzone?

Tracked the IP on that one, I've got it hitting me too, and it looks like it is coming from a host in France, oleane.net. It requested robots.txt several times and is acting like a spider on a couple of different domains (requested 16 times in 2 seconds on one domain, 69 times on another, can anyone browse this fast?) Is not behaving like the normal occurance of Microsoft URL control commonly seen. What is the IP on your request metaman? IP on this one is 213.56.168.145

MS URL control is nothing more than an active-X control that can be place in any MS Visual Basic/C++ program. It is an "http" request based control, that allows one to issue http requests from inside the program. We use a similar control from DevSoft to perform our own rankings and submissions in an automated fashion. It could be used to spider web sites also.

I'm not sure James. I'm with a new host on this one that doesn't allow access to the raw logs. :( They use something called analog which can be customized to a certain degree though. It's weird.. they give me a list of IP's and a separate list of UA's so its tough to tell. Anyone use Dreamhost?
