Im trying to find the IP Address of a search engine spider called Mattie - (quote:) "Who's sole purpose is to find MP3's"
This 'hobby' robot seems intent on eating up bandwidth on my server on a monthly basis. I've tried several methods to ban it but to no evail.

The only sure fire way I have is to find it's IP Address and ban from the server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your server logs should contain Mattie's IP address each time it accesses your server.

I cant see the IP address anywhere in the log files - its like he wasnt there (this is what my techno bod is telling me anyway).

If it helps it's a Windows 2000 Server

I guess the IP would be 64.251.193.174 then.

Ok - We have banned this IP and will monitor over the next couple of days to see if we have swatted the spider ! Thanks for your help. It could have saved me up to a 1 gig a month!
