Got hit repeatedly by:

209.73.162.133 /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/[domain]/kjhgdkjhf1goifj2lktjelj34knfhjguih8bbj/index.html

I reversed the IP to: scooter1.sv.av.com

It kept putting in garbage characters after the domain name for some reason. Filled my error logs with a bunch of lines of junk - as it did this with several domains.

Anyone else seen this?

Oh- and I was bombarded by MarkWatch, too. Came back every few milliseconds. Added to the banned list.

I've seen (actually not seen, but had reported to me) such hits by AV.

I'm going by the assumption that somebody's feeding Scooter the jibberish in an attempt to overload a buffer or something... I don't really know.

Thought it was pretty strange. I never noticed that before with AV. Just didn't seem legit.

Just to be safe - I 403'd the AV spider's IP into oblivion. Same for MarkWatch.

My banned list is getting pretty hefty :(
