i feel a bit stupid, but i just became the webmaster of my own home page and also my faculty's homepage and i don't know how to post it on google and other search engines, so that the people that are looking for this webpages could find them.
can you help me? please!

I have posted a few stupid questions myself, you have to start somewhere and all of the folks here remember what it was like starting out ;)

To do well in Google (and some other engines) you need to get people to link from their page to yours. The Open Directory (DMoz.org) is a good place to start.

Also you need to make sure that you have enough word on your pages so that people can find you when they search with those words. If you use good page <TITLE>s as well then this will help a lot.
