If you've made the changes such as: correct all meta tags, edit title tag, alt tags are added, you've embarked on linking and added as much content to the sites as they will allow, what next step do you take (besides the obvious of submitting).
I don't think that changing meta tags all the time will help especially since there's not as much weight associated whith them, but what do you do?
I find my REAL challenge is continuing to make improvements and finding the improvements to make.
Any ideas?
I think I'd re-examine my approach. The approach suggested above seems to me to be putting emphasis in the wrong places. When I see meta-tags and alt-tags listed first, an alarm bell goes off. Forgive me if I'm making some wrong assumptions about what you're doing...
What I'd do is first research and prioritize search targets, think about site theming, structure the site to accomodate necessary content and target phrases, optimize pages (on-page content, meta-description, and page title), and then make directory submissions, and perhaps manual search engine submissions to selected engines, and get good optimized external links. On many sites, I don't even bother with alt tags. I still use meta keywords, but many successful sites don't.
The trick with the content is not to have "as much content" as possible, but to have focused content on pages built around focused titles... and, if you're in a competitive area, to keep the whole site focused too.
After a site goes up, I'll look at results and tune page content... things like word proximity etc... as well as title tags if needed.
More good links always help.
