Rotating content - adding fresh content

Does rotating your content on your index page has any benefit?

I've been reading about search engines, and the index page is like the door to the whole website uh? I read about adding content and I have seen the benefits, but does rotating all your content shows something good?

I change my index page often, so the visitors see fresh content, but I was thinking about automating such task, so every day, diferent topics will appear on the index page, not via Javascript, but creating a new index page.

I think the search engines will see my website as "alive" and constantly changing... I have seen webs with old content having high ranking and traffic.

All the rotating content would be from my 160+ notes. (new content for a site is kinda hard... only one guy)?

Does anyone have experienced about this?

There is no need of changing your homepage itself if you use SSI for adding fresh content everyday.

I have a similar question about this topic and whether it is beneficial to rotate deep link pages randomly on homepage.

Personally I wouldn't worry much about rotating content for the sake of it. If it makes sense for users and they would find it interesting, or it would give them reasons to come back to the site more often, then sure, try that. Doesn't necessarily need to be a lot.

IMHO, more important to keep ADDING fresh, original content on new pages. FWIW.
