If a website is hosted in Gibralter, can it show up in google.co.uk with the "pages in the UK" tick box selected?

I have search results appearing in google.co.uk at positions 11 and 13 with "the web" selected, but when I select the UK only tick box, they disappear.

Is this to be expected, or can I somehow find my way into UK only results with a site that is hosted in Gibralter?

I believe it needs to be either hosted in the UK (UK ip address) or a .co.uk, org.uk, net.uk domain name.

Hi pindi,
After reading your post, I went through some sites on google.co.uk, the top 20 are either .com or .co.uk sites. but many of .com ones are registered outside of uk. So it means that it is not just being registered in uk that is important but if your site has good link popularity pages and contents related to uk, then you are there.
