What techniques can I use to promote my site?

hi

i am newbie in this seo field i have done SEO for my client site according to the algorithm and followed eathical way to do it...

Google has crawled 130+ web pages
Yahoo has crawled 80+ web pages
Msn has crawled 300+ web pages

But still i have not achieved my keywords yet
submited my site to major engines and dir

inorder to get traffic i have created blog for that site and promoting currently, also guide how to achieve keywords,

One small doubts my blog has generated Rss feed should i sumite to other rss directory,does it help me to get traffic or achieve keywords

how can i do in depth analysis of my copetitors on what parameter, in short how amny things i need to chek for analysis and how to do analysis of my copetitors and my site is ther an y tool which tells this r the probs in your site compare to your competitors
