Hi,

I have registered a free web hosting service. They provide me a 4th level domain name. eg.
[mysite].submain.exmaple.com

I heard that SE treat subdomain as different sites, so how about 4th level domain like this?

thanks

Manage your domain normally.SEs will treat it as any other existing domain. So good contents make good rankings.

waiman39hk - Let me say this about about a 4th level domain... If you build a good site with good content and attract good links, yes, you may be able to rank on it. But you'll be building a site on a domain over which you don't have certain kinds of server access or control.

Ultimately, if your site is good enough and popular enough, you are going to want to get your own domain, and at that point you're going to wish that you'd done that from the beginning. Without server access, you won't be able to do a proper redirect to your new domain. In starting afresh at that point on a new domain, you'll also lose the aging benefits that you would have accrued if you'd started on your own domain now.

I recommend, if you're really serious about your site, that you start on your own domain from the beginning.
