Hello all,

I have a client (from Europe, The Netherlands) which wants to make a trial with my company regarding SEO. But, I have some issues I don't know how to approach. First, there are two websites in question (both are job hunting sites, like monster board), and they want to appear in the top 10 on most of the relevant search engines, like Yahoo!, MSN, Google and some national-based dutch search engine. They want to know what would be the costs and can we guarantee them what will be the results?

How to approach to this issue? What to tell? Any help greatly appreciated.

If you'd like to be honest with them, let them know that you cannot provide a guarantee. However, if you actually think you can provide a reasonable guarantee for such a competitive market for one and two keyword combinations, then you are a better seo than I am.

Note: The above applies if they have a PR of less than 6. And the PR can't be from one PR7 link. :)

Kufu,

I do plan to be honest with them, but I am not very experienced with SEO at all, I know that there are some possibilities that I can try to work on for them. For example, I plan to follow Bret's 26 steps, but do not know how to charge them for that job?

They told me they are not very big company (under 1 million E/year) and that their aim is to bring about 1000 visitors per day. Both of the websites have PR 4/10..

If you are not experienced with seo I would strongly recommend that you get the help of someone who knows what they are doing, especially if you are going to offer a guarantee.

I'm afraid a PR4 is not going to get them anywhere in that industry. Of course PR isn't everything but when you get to a certain point, you really do need the link support to be able to rank well. And link-exchanges won't help in such a case.

Give them a realistic outlook, and make sure they understand that they may not see any results for at least half a year.

Ok, I will try to find out someone who is experienced in SEO in Netherlands. If anyone reads this and finds him/herself the right person for the jos, I would like to ask them to make a contact with me.

Yeah, that's the worse thing of all. Job sites are very specific so I have to think what would be the best way to approach this. What do you think of Google.nl AdSense? Someone overhere recommended that scenario for the Netherlands.

I already did that, now I am waiting for their reaction. Thank you for the advice.
