When is a landing page not a doorway?

1. when it has other inbound links...or
2. when it does not redirect to yet another page (that's what got BMW in trouble)

I have landing pages for 3 and 4 keyword terms.

I've always done this. Sometimes I would use effectively hidden links (ie in drop down navigations) to link up some pages - but I am always attempting to keep everything above board (in terms of seo + accessibility etc).

Could this be frowned upon. I don't redirect - and the information people are looking for in Google is on the page I present to the user (which is the same as the SE)

Could this be frowned upon?

Oh - and looking at big daddy results - it seems to me as if this is pushing out smaller sites and presenting users with the big boys - are you seeing the same results?
