Submitting my RSS feed to RSS directories

How will that help my SEO?

One of my sites gets about 20 new pages / day. So I've thought about making an RSS that links to the 20 newest pages.

I've seen lists of RSS directories where I can submit my RSS. I've also seen list of RSS pingers. So I have three questions:

1. How will it help my SEO if I submit my RSS to all theese directories?

2. Will my new pages get indexed faster by submitting my RSS to all thoose directories?

3. What does RSS pinging do?

1. It won't do any harm (unless you go over the top and end up banned/penalised)

2. Almost certainly

3. Just tells the service (e.g. Technorati) that you have updated your RSS feed. They should then send their spider out and update your entries.

The whole blog/rss arena is full of spam pages/feeds/links (mainly for reason 2) so don't expect too much of a boost from this.
