I heared that we can rank easily for a PDF file when compared with HTML file. So we can target highly competitive keywords also for PDF file optimisation. Is this true?
Also can I have any tips or articles to read or PDF optimisation factors, for my PDF file optimisation.
Can anyone help me in this?

I'm afraid I don't have much personal experience in optimzing PDF's, but would imagine that it's not much different than onpage factors used in Web pages. As an aside, I wouldn't be surprised if G weighted PDF files relative to more standard Web pages, though I have no direct knowledge of this.
Anyone with direct experience care to comment?

I've seen some awful meta-data mistakes get indexed -- no one wants their pdf file indexed as "I have removed all the m-dashes" for instance.
