I've read here and there that when a search engine discovers that a page is really just a parked page, they will likely delist it. Is that true? Or is it only true for pages that the owner is playing games with, ala link farms and the like? Seems like they delist PPC-parked pages no one would every park their names with PPC sites...
Also, if a page is delisted, can you get it listed again if you develop the name? Automatic or does one need to contact the SE?
In addition, this PPC company sets up sitemaps for each name. Someone on another forum told me that Google could view this as a link farm. Hard to believe, since it would screw every domain name parked there. What's the real skinny on this?
Expecting to get much traffic to a parked page through search engine listings is going to lead to dissapointment as, unless you do work behind the scenes in some dodgy way, there will be no reason for the search engines to think the page is useful.
This brings me on to the point, I believe that the search engines do not penalise parked pages such as PPC listings. It's merely that they do not rank well due to not meriting it, I would only worry if you have been abusing link strategies to boost rankings of a page with no information other than adverts.
parking companies that have specific arrangements with PPC companies
Heck, even Google has its DomainPark [google.com] program for Adsense. They pop up in the SERPs all the time.
My PPC company enables sitemaps for all domains so it's got me a little worried. Should I be?
