I have a new web site. By appliying some simple SEO techniques, i increased number of unique visitors from 0 to ~20. I think i can increment this number to 100 if i continue the 2. techique. But i want to learn what other SEO techniques exist and which ones are the most effective ones. If you could give weights to them based on your experience this would be great.
Thanks for your helps, ideas.
1. Backlinks. Adding the link of my site to other sites especially the ones with high pagerank.
2. My site is sth like an FAQ site. So i am posting answers(in fact links to my site) to questions asked in forums.
3. Adding site to search engines and directories. I have limited success on this. Although i submitted my site to major search engines and directories, i did not get listed on Google (in fact they already cached some of my pages but i dont have a pagerank yet) and DMOZ)
I have another question for this list item: How big an increase you expect if my site is listed in Google and DMOZ? Could you share your experience with me?
My best suggestion is to get plenty serch engine friendly information on your site. Create mutiple pages that focus on a specific topic that has relevance to the rest of your site.
Your question regarding the increase in visitors, well this is open ended, however 100-200 uniques a day from unpaid serch engine traffic would be a nice target for you to aim for.
