Hey everyone,

I want to get into promoting my site by writing articles and posting them on websites relating to the topics. I was curious if this is a good SEO tactic?

Also, where do I submit these articles? How do I look for sites that will accept these articles and post them on their sites?

I'm very new at this. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

Wes

Yes it's a good tactic. The more articles you can publish via placement on other sites, especially authoritative sites in your category and closely related categories, the better - assuming that you get links back to your site. These can be great opportunities to get deep links too.

You can approach it any number of ways, but one good way is to find sites that:
- you know will already accept articles, and that
- might have interest in articles closely related to the areas of your site you want more traffic for...

...and then contact them asking if they would have an interest. This is a bit more involved than just cranking out a simple article and sending it around hoping for a taker, but it typically leads to a good quality placement, at least in our experience.

To help you research sites you'd like to submit to, you can always search on things like "keyword article submissions" etc. You get the idea. :)

Hi,

I agree to caveman. This is one of the best tactic for SEO. But the point to keep in mind is the category you choose to submit your article. Always find the sites who accept your theme based articles. You can search the sites in google itself.

Thanks
