Is there anyone but Google?

Are there any figures as to number of searches by the various search engines?

From my weblogs, Google seems to hold #1-9 with the rest coming after that. I mean Google so far out performs all others that they seem insignificant.
Is that everyone's experience?

According to Hitwise, Google dominates search industry with 59.2% market share. Yahoo (28.8%) and MSN (5.5%) follow.

Those numbers look way off to me. I think that Y's and MSN's combined share should roughly total what G's share is.

Yeah, there is no doubt Google is number 1, but I was wondering how Webmasters view the rest of the search engines.
From my weblogs the numbers are way diferent, with Google providing about 90% of my traffic, then believe it or not, some good links coming in number 2 and 3 followed by MSN.
I hardly ever see AOL or Yahoo.
As for the rest like Ask Jeeves and so on, these search engines are not present on my weblogs.

Joe, it's pretty common for G to represent a lion's share of any given site's traffic.

But what is clear in watching our own sites over time and hearing other members comment is that the share coming from each SE can vary significantly by category. The nature of users at the three major SE's is not exactly identical and that plays a role.

Also, there may be things about any given site that cause it to rank well with one SE and not another. In some cases for example we have more trouble ranking well in Y than G. In other cases, the opposite.

There are a lot of Webmasters that build some of their sites with one SE in mind. We don't do that, preferring to make sites that hopefully rank well in all SE's (by virtue of what each site offers). But it doesn't always work out that way.

I have a site the ranks #1 for its main search term in G, Y, MSN and Ask.

My 6 month referrals break down as follows:

60.3% G
22.8% Y
9.7% MSN
0% Ask (27 visitors)

For a site I know of, interesting four months referral stats:

MSN Search 50.73%
Google 22.66%
Yahoo 22.44%
