Redirects to /dir/index.asp

Or just shove it all in root? What is better for the SE's?

We have created web site <snip>.

When visitors come into this site ASP script redirects into
example.com/Content/default.asp and all other pages are in example.com/Content folder.

Isn't it bad? Will it affect google and other search engines ranking? Maybe it would be good to keep all pages in ROOT directory?

There's a related thread about file locations in the search engine research forum:-

I'm sure we used to have a very long thread about this called "Shoving it all in root", but I can't now find it through searching. It might have been in Supporters - anyone remember where it is/have it bookmarked?
