Is it worth to change the page with the extension .php or .asp to .htm in order to increase the ranking of the pages in search engines?

The file extension will not affect your rankings. However, if you currently have mypage.php indexed by google, you'll lose all rankings if you change it to mypage.htm without doing a redirect.
