New Site - Should I link out to PR4/5 site?

Hi,

I have a pretty new site, only went up in the last 2 to 3 weeks. I've listed in 4 or 5 directories (inclusing yahoo) and these seem to be being picked up but not by Google yet.

I'm waiting for my DMOZ listing before more aggressive link building.

Anyway, cutting to the chase, I was fortunate enough to get my products onto a TV programme last week (donated product for free advertising) and they say its OK for me to link to their site (PR4/5)(They will be putting in a link for me from their site to mine, but only in about a month when the programme is screened)

Should I put the link in from my site to theirs now/in the future? Should the link be from my home page?

Thoughts welcome.

Hi Jannkuzel,

Congratulations on getting you product picked up right away.

Don't wait. If this happened to me, I would be promoting the fact that the program would be airing on a certain date and provide a link immediately.

I would not wait on building new links for DMOZ. DMOZ is a great place to be listed, but depending on the category, you can be in limbo for quite a while.

Good Luck,

Sometimes you can wait forever for dmoz and still not get listed. Depending on which category you are shooting for, I have heard and read that editers will only post your link if your 'bribe' them.

Do a search on google for bride dmoz editor and see what you find.

Only do that search if you're looking to marry a DMOZ editor... ;)

(Only making the joke because I copied and pasted it myself.)
